Several students have reported that when they go to submit an annotated document in the Canvas Student app, the app crashes on its own and does not allow them to submit.

There have been a few issues with PDFs on mobile and web in the past week, so I don't doubt they had any issues. I'll investigate and share this with the https://community.canvaslms.com/groups/cmug?sr=search&searchId=bb2dcf2f-c8bf-4f61-92b0-4da14873a80c&... group as well to see if we can find more information.
