In Canvas Parent 3.2, the Calendar page has been updated to display both month and week views. Additionally, as of 2020-04-04, users with observer roles can use a QR code to log in to the app.
Canvas Parent app version updates are distributed in a phased rollout, which distributes the update to all users enrolled in automatic updates over time. The features in these notes may not immediately be available, but iOS users can manually update the app at any time in the iTunes Store. The Canvas Parent iOS App requires iOS 12.0 or later.
Updated Features |
The Calendar displays both month and week views. This change helps parents more easily see course events for an entire month.
Parents can tap the name of the month to expand and collapse the monthly calendar. Any items within the current week display as agenda items below the calendar.
To coordinate with the Canvas web release, this feature will not be available until 2020-04-04
Users with observer roles can use a QR code to log in to the Canvas Parent App. This change helps observers and parents more easily log into the Canvas Parent App without having to know their institution’s Canvas URL or searching for a student’s school.
The Login page displays a QR Code link, which shows users where to find the QR code in the browser version of Canvas.

Has anyone else noticed that the Parent App Calendar seems to be broken since this update??
Hi, Grant,
If you're seeing that behavior, would you please report the problem from the app? That will help our engineers.
Thanks!
Erin
Hi Erin,
I have done this with Case Number 05648119, but have had little to no reply. The local CS Team here have told me that other schools are reporting the same issue, but that there is no clear indication of when this will be fixed. Needless to say, during a Remote Learning time this is not ideal. Hoping that a fix will come out the next sprint release, but am still waiting for some info back from Canvas.
