Accessing Google Drive via Canvas

Hello guys,
When a student tries to access a teacher assigned Google Assignment (ie. Google Docs or Google Sheets) it says "You need access." All students in the class have access except one. When they click the Request access button it says Request Sent but the teacher never receives an email to grant access. We have cleared browsing chache, made sure third-party cookies aren't blocked, taken off the Google Drive and re-registered it, and made sure on the Google account that Canvas has permissions taken it off of their and put it back on and still no go. We have even tried a new device. The student is able to access their Drive outside of Canvas. I have a couple of students with this problem, in different grade levels with different teachers. Is there a solution? Thank you for your help.
