Analytics for External Links

Jump to solution

Hello,
On my Canvas course, I have posted some external links in my modules and am curious how many students are clicking and utilizing them. Is there a way I can see this?  Thanks.

Tom

I use the Google URL shortener goo.gl

If I create the shortlink while logged into my Google account I can track the analytics. It adds another step, but it's worked very well for us. Also, the links are there forever so you only need to create them once.

@bradleyt , short answer for this is not easily and not by URL. Instead you would need to go into each student's access report and see if they clicked on the link, how often, and the last time (it doesn't show the date/time for each time, just the last time) -How do I view the course access report for an individual student?

Here's an example from my course. The Probability Calculator (circled in red) is a link to a website.

Hope this helps!
