Anyone having trouble getting the settings button to work when trying to change roles?

The button is flat and has no action when you click on it.

It looks like Panda Support solved the problem on May 27. I tested one of

the courses that was not working properly and it is working now. I will

check with my colleague to see if his courses are working now too. Thanks

for checking!

Hi  @stephanie_long ​...

I'm not 100% sure, but are you referring to the "Settings" (cog wheel) button in the roster list of "People" inside a Canvas course?  If so, I tested this in my own sandbox course, and I was able to successfully change a student to a teacher and then back to a student.  Could you provide some more detail on what you are experiencing on your end?

Yes. This is the button I'm referring to. It is only happening in this one

particular course. I am a teacher in the course, but I am also the

district admin for Canvas. I can't figure out why this course would be any

different.

 @stephanie_long ​, I tried this in a few courses (ones that had been concluded - was past the end date) and as an admin I still had the option to click on that cog wheel; granted I'm a full admin, not just a district one, so I'm not sure if I have more permissions than you might have. Is the "+ People" button grayed out (not clickable)?

No. I can add people. It's only in certain courses. Seems odd. I sent in a

case to service cloud too.

That is super strange! Please let us know what you find out from Canvas Support!
