My assignment group weights for marking period 3 were for 80-10-10 because of a district assessment. For marking period 4, they should be 90-10, but Canvas won't let me change it because it's in the same semester. Is there any way to fix this so that the marking periods have different assignment group weights?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Unfortunately, Canvas doesn’t support using different assignment group weights within the same course. Since Marking Period 3 and 4 are part of the same course shell, Canvas will apply the same weights throughout.
You could try moving the Q3 assignments to one group that isn't weighted, and then creating your groups and weighting them 90/10 for Q4.

Maybe you could set it up something like this:
Q3 Assignment Group 1 - 40%
Q3 Assignment Group 2 - 5%
Q3 Assignment Group 3 - 5%
Q4 Assignment Group 1 - 45%
Q4 Assignment Group 2 - 5%
In this scenario, each marking period is worth 50% of the final grade, and the Assignment Groups reflect the required weight for each marking period.
