Is there a way for students to double space when they submit a document in Assignments? They say they even copy and paste a double-spaced response, but it reverts to single space. Is the only option to upload a file if you want it double-spaced?

You can require a file upload and specify extensions such as .doc, .docx, .pdf so that students must submit a file from a program in which double-spacing is an option. Formatting in the text-box that students use within canvas is comparable to formatting options available when you type the instructions. Automatic double spacing is not an option. Students might be able to force double spacing by manually clicking enter at the end of every line. Editing what they wrote will be more complicated if they are required to do that.
