Assignment there, but not on grade sheet

One of the assignments (a discussion) was not uploaded to the course at the beginning, so I had to add it 'after the fact'. I can see that the students have it among their tasks, but it is not among the tasks I have to grade (even though a student has already posted in the discussion). Nor is it on the grade sheet. Why not?

Did you remember to check the box for the discussion to make it graded?

 @catharine_bergs  have you checked the discussion settings and verified that it's set up as a graded discussion?
