Can Conference Links work from the Student Side for Viewing

If an instructor copies and pastes a Conference link from one course to another, can the students view that conference?

This is the email that I received a few minutes ago:

I tried to import a recorded Conference from one class to another. But I didn't have the option. However, I was able to copy the link and paste it onto a page in another Canvas course, and the link worked. Do you know if that's the best method? I am teaching three sections of Comp II, so whatever I do in one, all I have to do is copy that into the other shells. The course content, schedules are identical. Thanks for your help!

I thought I recalled seeing a response earlier this year from  @ffdixon ‌ saying that this was not possible between two different Canvas courses.  But, since I've tagged him in this response, I am hopeful that he will be able to provide clarification for you if this is indeed possible or not.  Good luck!

Hi Eirc,

I am the product manager for BigBlueButton.  While I work at Blindside Networks, the company that provides hosting for Canvas Conferences to Instructure, and can't speak on behalf of Instructure, I can respond to your question.

If you are on the Premium Tier hosting for Canvas Conferences, you should be able to copy the recording links from one course to another.  Your doing it the right way :-).
