Can I add a note to an assignment that students cannot see?

I would like to add a note to an assignment and have the note viewable only to me. Is this possible? If so, how?

There isn't really a way to keep notes (only viewable to you) for a given assignment in Canvas. You may need to keep those notes offline? But, there is a "Notes" column that you can add to your Gradebook...which is only viewable to you. If you want to keep the notes online, this may be the option that you'll need to use. How do I use the Notes column in the Gradebook? - Instructure Community. Another option for you might be to create an un-published page in your course that only you would see. That way, you could keep any private notes in that page for the related assignment(s).
