Can a working Excel spreadsheet be embedded in Canvas and still be functional?

Jump to solution

Working with Algebra, the teachers would like to put a table in (yes, I can do this with Canvas), but the students need to input some numbers to see how it changes the area and volume of a box.  This can be done in Excel, but can I make it in Excel, embed it in Canvas and still have it function?  I haven't tried due to fears of what happens with other aspects.

Hi  @9927744

Yes it can, and dynamic Google Content is a powerful addition to Canvas functionality.  Check out this blog from my friend stefaniesanders  https://community.canvaslms.com/groups/designers/blog/2015/04/23/using-google-docs-for-dynamic-canva... .

I hope this is helpful,

Kelley

Hi  @9927744

After a quick heads-up from stefaniesanders‌, and some equally hasty testing to avoid wasting any more of your time, Google Sheets can only be edited by students if you share with them.

Many apologies for the confusion and misinformation!

Fake news, Man!
