Can students do a Discussion with a video submission?

Jump to solution

Is there a feature in Canvas that allows students to submit a video, and allows others in the class to see it and comment?  I'm thinking like a Discussion, only with video.

The current discussion boards in Canvas support this use. There's a record/upload media button built into the tool bar when they compose a reply to a discussion board. It connects to their webcam and allows them to make a video response on the fly. We like to do this especially with "introduce yourself" discussion boards as it lets you connect more with others in an asynchronous environment.

Yes, if they take the video they can download it to their desktop and upload it as a file into the discussion.
