Can you hide global navigation

We are creating a public facing course that we would love to look like a regular webpage. I am afraid someone is going to tap on the global navigation buttons and we don't want that. Is there a way to hide the global navigation buttons on a public page?

I'm guessing the only way to do this would be through some custom global javascript. I'm going to share this with the Canvas Developers​ group in the Community to see if they can help with this.
