Jump to solution

I want to put a link to canvas for my students on my syllabus.  What is the appropriate link to give to students?

Thanks!

Hi there,  @pierc012  and Welcometo the Canvas Community!

I guess my first question is, how do you access Canvas? Where I work, our faculty and students access Canvas by going through our portal, so a link to Canvas wouldn't be the best option, but instead a link to the portal with instructions on how to access Canvas from the portal.

With that said, if you navigate to the home page of your course, you can take the URL out of the web address bar and supply it to your students, or you can supply just the first part (again, depending on how your university authenticates/accesses Canvas). For example, a course URL may look like https://college.instructure.com/courses/#######, and your university URL would be https://college.instructure.com/

Hope this information helps!
