@CanvasDocTeam Is it possible to change someone's role? I have a School Adjustment Councilor who got added to Canvas as an observer but I need her to have the permissions of a teacher. As the Canvas admin can I change her role?

Through PEOPLE you should be able to adjust their role.

Yes, that does only change that user's role in the course. Other than Admin-based roles, all Canvas roles are assigned at the course level.
If you want this observer role to carry through to all courses, then you will need to create an observer role that is based on an admin role. These are called "Account-Level Roles" This guide will help, How do I add an account-level role in the Permissions page?
