Is there another option to combine sections other than cross-listing?

Yes, crosslisting would be the designed functions for getting two groups of people into one course shell.  Is that not a good option in your case?

Is cross listing the best thing to do? Do I need to create a parent class, or do I just pick one of the sections and cross list the others with it?

Hi Rob,

Yes, crosslisting is the functionality designed for this scenario.  You can crosslist one Canvas course directly into another.
