Can we create course categories such as 'Active' and 'Templates'?

We use "terms" and "sub-accounts" for development course and non-academic courses so you might explore using terms and sub-accounts for this need.  Using sub-accounts for this would also allow you to set permissions different from your academic courses.  We do not allow instructors to add students to development courses.

Appreciate the info but I'm not sure this will help me (I will admit I can't find where these settings reside).

What I want to do is create categories of types of courses on my dashboard to keep them separate between active and templates.

Hi,  @john_preston ‌, Robbie's answer is from an admin's perspective, but it sounds like you're an instructor. There isn't currently a way to create categories of courses for the dashboard, but the cards can be rearranged via drag-and-drop and nicknamed (with those names only visible to you) for better organization. For quick visual identification, instructors and designers can also add images to those cards and/or change the card color. These lessons should help:

Thank you Stefanie - I've already done all of that and I will change the pictures of my templates to 'TEMPLATE', haha.  That should help!

 @john_preston , honestly, changing the pictures to TEMPLATE is a great idea!

Thanks!  I use Microsoft Publisher and PowerPoint to create pictures to use as course pictures; for the templates I realize I don't need anything fancy!
