I am teaching a course this semester that has two sections. I have each section listed separately in Canvas (I did not set it up that way, I found it like that).
Can I combine both sections into one course? If so, how? I don't want to post everything twice.
If I can't do that, can I duplicate all the info in one section (the description, expectations, syllabus, etc) and copy it over to the other? I tried the copy content option but it did nothing.
Hello @AndreeaB ...
If you have two separate courses in Canvas...each with their own unique Course ID / course URL (example: https://SchoolName.instructure.com/courses/12345 and https://SchoolName.instructure.com/courses/67890), you can join your courses together via cross-listing. What this does is moves the enrollments from one course to another, and you can see all enrollments separated by their section via the "People" page of your course. Here is a Guide that walks you through the process: How do I cross-list a section in a course as an instructor?. Keep in mind that if you are not able to cross-list your courses together yourself, you may need to reach out to your school's local Canvas administrator or someone from your school's Online Learning/eLearning department who might be able to do this for you.
I hope this will be of help to you. Take care, and be well.
