Differentiated Instruction

I would like to have an efficient way to provide differentiated instruction to my high school classes. I assign many assignments throughout the year to my high school classes, around 100-120 assignments per year. I would like to provide differentiated assignments to groups of students, especially to students with modifications. There is currently no feature to group students to assign them differentiated materials with individual submissions. The current group feature only allows groups to submit an assignment together, not individually. Therefore, if I want to assign differentiated materials, I have to manually type in each students name one at a time to create a group for individual submissions. This makes it logistically impossible for me to provide differentiated materials with 120 assignments per year with around 120 students in my classes.

- Is there currently an efficient work around for this?

- Can we add a button to enable individual or group submissions when assigning differentiated materials to groups?

Here's an excerpt from a discussion about the difference between groups and sections:

"Groups are for Collaboration, and Sections are for Differentiation"

So it sounds like you may want to create different sections for your students who need differentiation rather than put them in groups--unless they are doing group work but I didn't get that impression from your post.

Hopefully your section of students who need different assignments is mostly static so that it will be easy to just put students in that section and then give the assignment to the section rather than Everyone.How do I assign an assignment to a course section?
