Disappointed to not have Mastery Paths with Quizzes.Next

Jump to solution

I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me how to set up Mastery Paths with Quizzes.

Next. Am I missing something? I can't find a way to do it. From what I have read it sounds like this may not be a current option.

One of the reasons we chose to use Canvas as our LMS was because of the functionality Mastery Paths gives us within our course. It is a necessary part of the way we deliver content to our students.

I just set up our first quiz with Quizzes.Next to discover that I can not assign mastery paths based on the score awarded to the students upon completion of the quiz.

Can anyone one confirm or deny my fears?

Yes, this is the thread I read where it appears there is not currently a plan to implement Mastery Paths with Quizzes.next. I can't understand why this would be the case. Is Mastery Paths going away?

This particular thread was asking for a slightly different application of Mastery Paths (one that I would also love to see) abut it linked to another thread that says:

_________

At this time there is no set plan one way or the other. Knowing this would be valuable to you helps give this functionality more weight when it comes up in future prioritization exercises.

I was hoping something may have changed since then or that maybe I just wasn't understanding what was said. Smiley Sad

Mastery paths are important to the future of education regarding differentiation and personalization. Quizzes Next has so many great new capabilities but to lose this one thing would cause our school to have to look at different concepts for teaching our blended learning math classes in middle school. This news is a bit nerve-wracking when we are in the middle of implementing Canvas 6-12th grade and hear that there has been no decision on if this will be an option for the future.
