Document uploads to a Module

I am populating (uploading) documents to a course module.

What are the advantages/disadvantages to uploading a Word doc vs. uploading a Google doc?

                     - Will it make a difference for the students?

                     - Is one kind of doc a better choice than the other when it comes to a quiz, a worksheet, or test, or reading

                       material?
