Google Assignment LTI Error

I am trying to create a Google Assignment in my course, however, I am seeing this message pop up when I choose External Tool Google LTI: 

"You must be an instructor to use the assignment configuration tool

Switch to your linked G Suite for Education account or contact your school's G Suite or Assignments admin. Learn more"
