When uploading a google doc to a created assignment, do I have to make a copy for each student or does it automatically give each student their own copy? I don't want a "community" document, rather one each student will be able to turn in.

Hello  @tim_sturgell  Welcome to the Canvas Community.  Thanks for posting your question.  If you've created an assignment with an included/attached document from your Google account, when it comes time for students to submit their assignment to you, they would sign in to their own Google account, and it would create a copy of your document to put into their own Google accounts.  It does not touch your version.  So, for example, you could create a file as a template that you wanted your students to use.  The students go to the assignment, sign in to Google, and then a copy of the template is created.  They fill it out and submit it to you.  Your template remains untouched so that you can re-use it in another course or for the following semester.  Hope that helps, Tim.
