Hi @bjesse - Not necessarily. It's not so much how you create the group as it is how you create an assignment that you assign to groups. There are more details here: How do I assign an assignment to a course group? If you leave the checkbox called "Assign Grades to Each Student Individually" disabled (which is the default setting, by the way), then indeed all students will receive the same grade when you grade that assignment. You need only input one student's grade and the others in that group will automatically receive it.
