HOW TO HAVE STUDENTS SUBMIT A PICTURE SHOWING WORK?

Hello I am a math teacher. I wanted to ask how can I have students show work in canvas? I have asked students to take a pic, then send to their email, then download, and finally upload to Canvas. Is there a simple way?

I also noticed that all pictures do not read in Canvas. What types of pictures will Canvas accept?
