How are grades calculated

Would someone please provide the information on how grades are calculated - I am looking for a document that show weighted and unweighted calculations - as well as how the grade posting policies impact the view by student vs. instructor - I have tried to wade through all the resources but honestly I just need one definitive document that says it.

The link that @Stef_retired may have been referring to (that no longer works because Instructure moved to a new Community interface during the Summer of 2020) is: How do I weight the final course grade based on as... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com).

I am hoping this is the Guide that Stefanie was referring to at the time.  Hopefully this will be of help to you.
