How to prevent starters or practice (things not counted on the grade) from showing in grades.

I have made "assignments" for my starters on Canvas, but I do not grade them. I have checked the box that says "don't count towards the final grade," but they still show up in Gradebook. Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent this from happening. We have a starter every day, and I don't want their grades section cluttered up by all the starters. If I can't do it with "assignments," is there another format on Canvas that I can use that won't show up in the grades?
