When conducting a quiz on Canvas, is it possible to prevent students from switching to different tab or window on browsers?

Hi  @vjambhul ‌ and welcome to the Canvas Community.

I appreciate your question as keeping learners in the one place as much as possible helps with navigation and keeping them where you need them to be rather than flying about the internet on distracting whims.

One way comes to mind is where you can embed tools and some web pages straight into your page.

Lots of collaborative online tools like padlet and Answer garden provide embed codes which you can use to embed into your page.

Here's a blog especially about padlet A Padlet of Student Voices

And one about other embeddable tools Comparison Shopping for Free Tools: Pinterest, Flickr, Diigo, Padlet

One more beauty: https://community.canvaslms.com/community/instcon/instructurecon-2018/blog/2018/08/18/embed-magician...

There are loads more in the Community too. snufer‌ is a guru in this field.

Here is a guide for embedding video using the iframe How do I embed iFrame videos using the Rich Content Editor as an instructor?

This one is handy also:How do I embed a Guides lesson inside a Canvas course?

This iframe generator is very handy. https://www.iframe-generator.com/  I use it a lot to embed web pages directly into my pages. Keep in mind though that not all websites play nicely and sometimes a blank screen is all you will get. But there is a handy 'preview' button to help you there.

If you have any questions, and I'm sure you will!, feel free to reach out.

In the meantime have fun, and know that your students are awfully lucky to have you.
