I am labeled as a student - how can I become an instructor?

I cannot add a new course, I can only join the one provided. I need to create a classroom for myself, so how can I do this?

Sorry to see that your question hasn't received an answer since you first posted this question in early August.  Roles within your school's Canvas environment are controlled by your school's local Canvas administrator or the folks in your school's Online Learning/eLearning department.  You'll need to reach out to them if you haven't already to see how they might be able to help you with your request.
