I am an itinerant music teacher, and I work at two schools. Both Principals have created assignments where I need to submit my lesson plans. One school is my home school, where I regularly see students, but the other school is not showing up in the system. However, they want me to submit my lesson plans in their designated assignments for the week.
Hi @EmilyStoddard! Can you clarify what you mean when you say two schools? And how are you being asked to submit them?
For clarification, are these two schools in the same Canvas instance (eg. website is the same schooldistrict.instructure.com)? Or are they two completely different school organizations?
Sure! I am an itinerant Music Teacher. I alternate weekly between two schools—one week at School A and the next at School B. My home school requires me to submit lesson plans every two weeks, which aligns with my 10-day rotation schedule. I can see my home school in Canvas and submit lesson plans there without issue. However, I don’t see my other school in Canvas, even though they are asking me to submit my lesson plans through the assignments they’ve set up for teachers.
Hi @EmilyStoddard ...
Thank you for the reply. Like @natariastx, I am still yet a bit unclear as to if you are using two separate Canvas environments or if you are using just one Canvas environment. For example, do your Canvas URLs look something like this?
Or, might you be logging in to a single Canvas URL and then your two courses within that Canvas environment are called "schools"?
It almost sounds like you are using just one Canvas URL, but I cannot be 100% certain of that, so any help from you would be helpful.
Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
Hi @EmilyStoddard,
Whether "school 1" or "school 2" is using the same Canvas environment or not (if they are using the same "base" link that looks like what @Chris_Hofer and @natariastx described), it seems that you have not been given access to whatever or wherever you are trying to go.
I would recommend that you would with the principal of "school 2" and explain to them they are are not seeing the area that you are expected to work in.
