I press the add rubric button, it turns blue, but nothing happens

It has always worked in my other courses, but in both sections of one course, nothing happens when I press the "+ rubric" button. I have rubrics in the course ready to go. As far as I can tell, nothing is different about how I set up this assignment and its submissions from other course. Ideas?

I tried testing this out and wasn't able to replicate this. I'd recommend reaching out to Canvas Support. They can view your specific Canvas instance and troubleshoot possible causes and solutions.

As far as I can tell, your link for "reaching out to Canvas Support" does not allow me to contact anyone, it just takes me to the help files.

btw, right-clicking the add rubric button takes me to the rubric age where I can create a rubric, but I haven't found any way to connect it to an assignment.

What's really weird is that I found I can add a rubric to some assignments in that course but not others. I tried it in a couple different browsers, but no difference.

Update: I think I fixed it. Looking around I saw that using an external tool keeps you from using a rubric. I was not using an external tool, but I switch the submission to external tool, and then switched back to online submission (students have already submitted) and now the add rubric button (which again was there and did turn blue before) worked and allowed me to add a rubric.

Haven't tried it yet on other assignments.
