Image Upload: Orientation changes

I have an android phone and I took a picture with portrait orientation. When I go to the file section of my account and upload the selfie, it uploads with landscape orientation. As in the image is rotated to the right 90 degrees. When I embed the photo into an assignment, it embeds with the landscape orientation. I'm hoping to figure out 2 things.

First, I want to know how to upload the photo so that the orientation doesn't change.

Second, is there a way to change the orientation of a photo once inside the text editor in Canvas? I'm using a PC running Windows 10.

Thanks, Heather

 @hbrown1 ,

You definitely can't rotate the image in the RCE inside of Canvas.  I would recommend opening the photo in a photo manipulation application and making sure that it is actually saved as in portrait orientation.  I have seen examples where the image was take in portrait, but when loaded into something like photoshop, it is actually saved in landscape orientation.

Thanks  @Robbie_Grant ,

I did figure out that if you have an Android, taking a picture in 'landscape orientation' and upload the image to files....the orientation does not change. Smiley Happy
