I am teaching a number of courses on canvas for Fall 2020. I send out weekly announcements to my classes with embedded links to images I want to share. They link to images that I have stored on my personal dropbox account.

Can I store these images on canvas?

Where and how do I upload them?

Sorry to see that your question has been sitting out here unanswered for so many months. Yes, you can upload images to the "Files" area of your course and then use those images inside of course Announcements. Check out How do I upload a file to a course?.
Another option for you is to attach a file (such as an image) to your course Announcement. Check out: How do I attach a file to an announcement in a course?.
