Importing and Syllabus Feed

Jump to solution

I imported course content from a course into my new one for this year. I checked to change the due dates and opted to delete the due dates, as I would just change them as they are assigned this year. My Home Page is set up with the Syllabus and all those old assignments are showing on it already, even in the Student View. I went back and unpublished all the assignments and hide the modules, but they are still in the syllabus feed. Maybe I'm missing a step..or will they always be listed there from the beginning since I imported the content? Thanks for any help. Jennifer

@jmurdock , the assignments will still show up for you on the syllabus feed, but if they are unpublished then they will not show up to the students. You should be able to check this with student view - What is Student View?

Thank you! I just didn't check the Student View after unpublishing!!! I see

copies of my Lesson Plans on the Student View though from last year. They

were attached via the Calendar option. Is there a way to remove those?

Yes...(sorry had to double-check!)... Go to the Calendar, select the course you want to delete the items from (from the right menu), and then click on "Undated items" (also on the right). You should see all items without a date including the items you want to delete. You can click an item to get the option to delete it.

Hope this helps!

Sorry, Kona. I'm not getting this yet. I went to Calendar. On the far right

list of courses...how do select the course. By the box to the left of it?

That gives it a color and items will then appear on the calendar from that

course. I'm not figuring out the "select" part and so I'm not seeing

"undated items."

One last question to do with Calendar. Does Canvas have it to where we can

post say Lesson Plans on the Calendar to more than one Course by just

clicking them on a drop down menu? It wasn't available last year, but

wondered if it was in the works. I thought I remembered something on that

as a Feature Item.
