In Classic Quizzes - Shuffle Answer choices within Matching Question

Hi - trying to get clarification. In Classic Quizzes - if I choose "shuffle answers" I know that will shuffle the answer choices for each question. If I have a few matching questions will the answer options within the matching question be "shuffled" too? If not, is there a setting to make sure that they are shuffled?

I just created a single Matching question within a Classic Quiz of my own sandbox course.  I put the "1st letter", "2nd letter", "3rd letter", and "4th letter" text on the left side as I built the question.  Then, I added "A", "B", "C", and "D" as their matches on the right side.  I even added a few distractors of "E", "F", and "G" for good measure.  Then, when I previewed the question I just built, the answer choices were indeed randomized.

You should be seeing something similar with the question(s) you are building.

According to this Guide, What options can I set in a quiz?, "To shuffle (randomize) answers, click the Shuffle Answers checkbox."

And, this is the Guide for matching questions: How do I create a Matching quiz question?.

After you create a matching question, the possible choices for each part of your question are displayed for students in a drop-down list.  Within the drop-down list, the possible answers are randomized.  The best way to see this would be to build your matching question in your quiz (making sure to save the question and also the quiz itself).  Then, "Preview" the quiz.  This will allow you to see the student experience for the matching question.

I don't have access to a published course right now. The district closed the old courses. I am helping build a course for next year, so student view is not available, yet. 

I do know how to click the "shuffle answers" to randomize the answer choices. My main concern is finding out if that setting for the quiz will also randomize the choices WITHIN the matching question. I hope that makes sense.

Update: I was able to publish one of the quizzes I am working on and the matching choices are not randomized in student view. I am not sure if that means they won't be or not.

It would be very handy to be able to fix individual options in Matching questions in Classic Quizzes. This is currently lacking, and it seems that there is no way to do it without switching to New Quizzes.

Unfortunately, Instructure (the folks that make Canvas) aren't making any additional updates to Classic Quizzes.  They are now spending their time working on New Quizzes.  Sorry that I don't have better news for you about Classic Quizzes, but you may want to consider using New Quizzes ... or talk with your school's Canvas Administrator(s) to see what their plans are for using New Quizzes within Canvas at your school.
