I want my students to upload their assignments into Canvas directly from Google Drive, but when I grade the assignment, I do not want to download the assignment and then open it to grade it. Is there a way that the assignment opens in Canvas that I can use the tools provided when grading?
Thanks,
Janice

Hello @profdigialle,
Do you know if your institution has the Google LTI 1.3 integration? If it does, your students can select Google Drive from the More button when doing a File Upload assignment. The file will then be available to grade within the SpeedGrader in Canvas.
Best,
James

I have this issue as well. In Blackboard, we could very easily pull from multiple cloud sources. With Canvas it is only from Microsoft now. This is very disappointing and obstructive to my students. Shouldn't we have the say on what tools students can use to do work? I teach at multiple schools and use Google Docs to create and share content students need to upload for grading.
@MTorregrossa1 If your school has the Google LTI, you should be able to create Google Assignments that your students can upload. You may want to reach out to your institution's Canvas team to determine if they have either the old or new Google LTI and, if not, if they can get it set up for you to use.
