Is there a free plagiarism checker for use with CANVAS submissions?

Jump to solution

I thought that 'Turn it in' was available - that was why I started using CANVAS - but the few posts I've seen seem to make it very difficult to use. I want something better/quicker than googling phrases, and preferably that will work as my students submit their work in CANVAS.

Am I wrong in my expectations of CANVAS?  If so, are there other options that are better than cutting and pasting blocks of text from student submissions into an online freebie?  I'm teaching a pretty poor high school and there's no money unless I buy it myself, which I don't want to do..

Any ideas appreciated.

Many thanks

Susan

@susanjaneclark , Turnitin does integrate with Canvas, but you or your school has to pay for the initial license to use it. As far as I’m aware, while there are less costly alternatives to Turnitin, none are free that integrate into Canvas. At my school we recommend what you are doing, just googling a phrase or using a free online checker.
