Is there a way for students to receive partial credit on the Matching questions in New Quizzes?

Jump to solution

It looks like when you switched from Classic Quizzes to New Quizzes, you changed the name of the type of question I am trying to use.  It used to be called Multiple Dropdown and now it is Matching.  If you create a question with either of those types it ends up looking the same when you preview.  But, the multiple dropdown type has the ability to award partial credit.  We were wondering why that isn’t true for the Matching type?

Not currently. There is a feature idea open for it, though: https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/12273-partial-credit-in-new-quizzes

However, matching is not a replacement for Multiple Dropdown. The New Quizzes Feature Comparison says that functionality for multiple drop downs is found by using fill in the blank questions. https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-26384-how-do-i-create-a-fill-in-the-blank-question-in-new-q...  When doing this, you can use Open Entry, Dropdown, or Word Bank.
