Is there a way to track student participation?

Is there a way to track student participation? Not just whether or not they have logged in, but if they have participated in discussions, accessed resources, opened or downloaded the files I've posted, etc. We need to track student engagement and I need to know more than whether or not they logged in. Hello  @mhacktapp  and welcome to  the Community.  You can use the Access Report to see viewing and participation.  How do I view the course access report for an individual user?  

You may also view a log taken during a quiz.  How do I view a quiz log for a student?
