Issues with Flipgrid in the Canvas mobile app

Hello everyone,

Our college is interested in promoting Flipgrid as an instruction tool for online.  We have been doing some testing to ensure the experience is as seamless as possible for our faculty and students.  One issue we have been running into is in regards to accessing a Flipgrid assignment through the mobile app.  We have added the Flipgrid LTI to a course, created a Flipgrid assignment through the external tool option, and the grid is set to "Canvas Only".  When we go into the assignment through the mobile app, click launch external tool, and then click the green plus symbol, we are given the message "Your browser is currently not supported" (see below).  The Flipgrid app is installed on the phone when testing.  It is my understanding that the Canvas app should launch the Flipgrid app for recording, yet it almost seems as though it wants to launch it in a browser.  Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I used FlipGrid with students last week, and they all accessed the grids using the Canvas Student app on their iPads. After creating their account, they were able to record easily. They're submissions linked beautifully to my gradebook as well.

When you tested the FlipGrid LTI, were you using your account or a test student's?

I just came across this post because of a question about the iPads. With the iPad/iPhone, my tester got a blank screen when they opened the app using their teacher credentials. When they logged in through a test student account, everything worked. In your screenshot, it looks like you're using Android. I tested the app on my Android device and was directed to the Flipgrid login screen when I used teacher credentials, but was directed to the specific assignment when I used student credentials. Everything launched inside the Canvas App but there was a redirect icon to open in Chrome. Are you still experiencing an issue? Is your Student App the current version?
