Hi - I have set a quiz with two attempts with the highest of the two marks to be retained, but in assessing it for one of my students it is showing the highest mark but the corresponding quiz is the one the student did poorly in - I need to manually assess two of the questions and at the moment is appears I can only do this for the quiz she did least well in - is there a way I can fix this- thanks a lot

This seems a little strange! You should be able to view multiple submissions for a student quiz or assignment in SpeedGrader. If you check the sidebar, you should be able to toggle between the student's submissions and grade one or both of them.
