Matching questions
I made a matching portion of a quiz and it score the whole matching section as 10 points. I wanted 1 pt per question, but if a students missed 1, they missed them all. What gives?

Hello,
Sadly, there is no partial credit for Matching questions in New Quizzes. Currently, it is either All or Nothing, which is very frustrating and the only workaround is to use the Fudge Points option and inform students that the actual score is adjusted.
On a side note, Classic Quizzes give partial credit based on the number of marks and matching questions.
The idea for granting partial credit for Matching questions is already submitted to Canvas. If you would like to vote/rate for it.
Thanks!

Thank you, Pallavi! My district is attempting to transition from Classroom, where this can be done, to Canvas; however, many are hesitant to do so for such reasons. That said, I love many of the features Canvas offers but the complexity of getting everything right between three different classes is a chore. I'm always forget to push this button or that button. BTW, where does one "vote" for an idea?
Thanks!

Hi there, @ALANLARSON ...
The Canvas Community platform no longer has a system for voting for Feature Ideas. That used to exist prior to Summer 2020 with the older Community platform. With the current platform that the Community uses, the voting system has been replaced with a star rating system. You can read more about that in:
How do idea conversations work in the Instructure Community?
There are all kinds of Feature Ideas that you can review and add a star rating to. The direct link is here: Idea Conversations - Instructure Community. From any page here in the Community, you can use the menu at the top of the screen to select "Roadmap", and then select "Canvas" under the "Idea Conversations" heading.
Hope this helps a bit.

Thank you, Chofer. This is helpful to know. I was looking for the vote button.
Google Search takes to the solution mentioned on this page: How do I vote? and it is confusing.
Thanks!

Hi @PallaviJalakam ...
The link that you pointed to, Solved: How do I vote. - Instructure Community, is a question that was posted by a Community user back in 2015. It is not an "official" document from Instructure ...but rather a question from a Community member. As I mentioned earlier, the Canvas Community changed platforms in Summer 2020...so there are bound to be older postings here in the Community that refer to old procedures...and the link you found is one of those cases. Hope this helps.

Hello Alan,
Canvas does have great features and yes, a few of them are not straightforward to understand at first glance. I have been using Canvas for a few years now and there is always something new to learn every day.
I read that if the feature idea is open for voting, and as long as you are logged into the Canvas Community, you can Upvote the feature by clicking on the up arrow that appears next to the votes. To be honest, I was only able to Rate an idea so far, but never Upvote.
Please check this: How do idea conversations work in the Instructure Community?
Thanks!
Pallavi
