Greetings, we recently implemented Canvas at our university and we have a large number of students that are serving on military bases. Apparently, most military installations are using IE 8. As we know, Canvas doesn't work on IE 8. Has anyone found a work around or way to get Canvas to work on that environment?
Any suggestions would help.
thanks

Baylor has several graduate programs offered at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX. We are always in the same boat. They can't upgrade their browsers, and they can't install other software. Even recently, they can't even bring in and use external flash drives where they could use things like Portable Firefox. Most of the faculty and students in these programs are so frustrated by these limitations that they bring in their own laptops and connect over their own portable MiFi devices.
So I know this isn't really the answer that you are looking for, but if things are managed where you are at all like things are managed at Ft. Sam, your users will probably just have to use alternatives to the government issues equipment like ours do. If they have slightly less restrictions and can use USB devices, take a look at the Portable Firefox options.
