New RCE and Canvas Student App

We are noticing that when a teacher posts a file in the new RCE, students are unable to see the document in the Canvas Student App.  I did some testing and saw that the teacher was using the new RCE, posting a document and then the student went to the newest version of the app and tried to view the document.  They got a message saying that the content wasn't available.  I went back in as the teacher and clicked on options and made sure that it had inline preview on.  Still nothing for the student.  I then toggled off the RCE and tried the old way.  The students could now see the document in the app.  Before I turned off the RCE I checked to see if the student could view in the browser and they could.  Is this expected behavior?  Has anyone else noticed this?

I tested this, and you're right. I also received an error when adding a document using the new RCE.

We hadn't had any reports because our school hasn't shifted over to the new RCE. With our students using Canvas Student for a majority of their Canvas access, I'm really glad you asked this question! Jave you submitted a ticket with Canvas Support?

Hi Belinda -

Last week, there was an update to Canvas Student. Version 6.6.12 fixes this! (I double-checked, and I can confirm!) Please let the Canvas Community know if that's not the case for you or your colleagues.
