Plagiarism Check within Canvas

Is there a plagiarism checker within Canvas? Specifically, I believe I have a couple of students who copied from papers submitted last semester.

@lemmer_m , there isn't a free built in plagiarism checker in Canvas that would check this. The only thing I can think of that you could do is just go back and sort through the assignments from your previous students. You could also check the file properties of the file submission from this semester to see who the file originated from (that can sometimes catch students). Here's a quick explanation of how you can check more into the file - How to Tell the Date a Word Document Was Made | Techwalla.com

Hope this helps! Kona

Hi Marlene!

If you consider plagiarism checker for Canvas that will help to detect such cases in future you're welcome to contact Unicheck Team for more details. Unicheck provides a native integration with Canvas and gives an opportunity to store previous submissions. As a result, new papers will be checked against them.

Additionally, within Canvas Partner Days  we will provide a webinar 'Unicheck: Comprehensive plagiarism checking tool for Canvas' on December 12.

We have prepared plenty of insight and will also be answering your questions. To join it please follow registration link

We will be glad to see you there!

Hello  @lemmer_m ...

Another option for you might be Turnitin.  You'd want to check with your school's local Canvas administrator to see if they have investigated this.  At our Technical College, our library already had purchased Turnitin prior to us partnering with Canvas, so the LTI external integration with Canvas was just a matter of some initial setup, and then we were off and running.   @dhulsey ‌ has an in-depth blog on Canvas and Turnitin‌ that you might want to take a look at.  Lots of great information in that posting along with lots of discussion.  Hope this helps, Marlene.
