Push Notifications Not Working

Hi there,

My Samsung Galaxy S10+ has suddenly stopped receiving any push notifications. I've check all settings to ensure that Background Data is not restricted, Power Mode is off, I've cleared Cache and Data and uninstalled the app, but nothing seems to be working. I've noticed that Pixel users have been having issues too since upgrading to Android 10, so I'm unsure if Samsung had a firmware update that is also causing issues. Is there anything else I can do to get the notifications back?

You're not alone -- see Google pixel upgrade. No more notifications‌ for a very similar conversation.

I am no longer getting push notifications on my iPhone when an assignment was turned in or an inbox message. Please fix!

Good afternoon, @PaulGorlick ...

To confirm, have you double-checked that your notification settings are set correctly in the "Push Notification" column both at your Canvas account level and at your Canvas course level?

Yea I confirmed that it just stopped working less then a month ago same as when you click on the envelope to message a student when you hit send it says error everytime.

My Canvas Student recently updated, and I'm so happy that notifications have returned!! :smileygrin:
