Quiz log shows more time than allotted

Jump to solution

I'm trying to figure out how this could occur without some sort of cheating. In speedgrader for a quiz it shows that a student's attempt took 92 minutes when the time limit set for the quiz was 80 minutes.The student has no extra time allowed through moderation. Any ideas?

 @cady_shelhon ,

What you are seeing is a symptom of what happens when, instead of clicking on the submit button once they completed the quiz, they logged out of Canvas/closed their browsers, then logged back in at which point the quiz auto submitted the results and added a time stamp of 92 minutes.

A summary of it is as follows, the student completed the quiz within the time limit of 80 minutes but did not click on the submit button therefore the next time the student logged into Canvas, the system automatically submitted the results with the added time stamp.
