Quizzes: a way to make them "one question at a time", then show answer and explanation?

I would like to create quizzes that I am calling "progressive". In other words, the first question is easy, the student answers it and sees if he got it correct. If not, an explanation comes up. Then he can do the second question, which is maybe slightly harder. Same thing - answer it and if incorrect, there is an explanation. And so forth. Is there a way to do this in Canvas Free for Teachers?

I think you have two options:
- Single quiz, "one question at a time" and "lock questions after answering" turned on
In this case, you can have a question followed by the explanation (in the form of a "Text question"), and then repeat that sequence as desired but it will not check whether the previous answer was correct - the student will get the same explanation either way - Multiple quizzes, each with a single question, all hosted within a module that has a requirement of completing each item in sequential order (mastery paths might let you make it even more customized, offering different quizzes/questions depending on whether the student got the previous right or wrong)
This way the students will get the answer feedback (if grade posting is automatic), which can be different between correct and wrong answers
