I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "record a message", but if you are asking if you can create an audio or video message to your students and then post it to an area such as a course announcement, then the answer is yes. There are a couple options for you. First you can do all your recording off-line (using your favorite audio/video editor), and then upload the audio/video file into your course. Or, you can do everything online using the audio/video options that are available right inside Canvas.
