Respondus Lockdown Browser + Webcam

Jump to solution

Good morning!

I am unable to access the Respondus Lockdown.  I am getting a note saying, "The app you're trying to install isn't a Microsoft-verified app."  What do I do now?  I am trying to take my first quiz with no success.

Please help!

Hi @CathyDaniels

It sounds like your computer is using Windows 10 or 11 in "S mode", which is a secured version of Windows that only allows you to install apps which come from the Microsoft App Store.

Since LockDown Browser is not available through the App Store, it is not compatible with Windows 10S or 11S (see https://support.respondus.com/hc/en-us/articles/4409607170459-What-are-the-computer-requirements-for... ).

Your only real option is to change the computer out of S mode ( see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-and-windows-11-in-s-mode-faq-851057d6-1ee9-b9... ) or find another compatible computer to use with LockDown Browser.
